General Plan Update
Planning Process Schedule
The General Plan process is organized as a two part effort. The first part, lasting about six months, will result in Economic Development and Youth and Family Services Strategies. The second part, lasting about 12 months, will result in a General Plan Update and Environmental Impact Report (EIR).
What is included in PART ONE of the process?
Part One will include preparation of an overall set of economic development strategies intended to inform land use and other general plan policies. Strategies will address identifying opportunity sites, market opportunities, land use alternatives, fiscal objectives, and redevelopment activities. Part One will also include preparing strategies for a Youth and Families Element for the General Plan. This will involve studying the community's evolving demographic profile, the needs of families and young people, and future programs and funding requirements.
