Elverta Specific Plan
CAC Meeting #2: Preliminary Concepts
On March 24, 1999, community members and the CAC participated in a workshop where they developed their own planning principles and planning concepts for the Elverta Specific Plan area.
MEETING OBJECTIVES:
- The overall objective for Meeting #2 was to allow the CAC to identify planning principles and popular features for Elverta's alternative concepts.
AGENDA:
- Introduction
- · review process status
- · review meeting agenda
- Part 1. Review Meeting #1 Results
- · review infrastructure issues
- · discuss key summary of CAC Meeting #1
- Part 2. Planning Principles
- · prepare land use, circulation, and image principles
- Part 3. Preliminary Alternative Plan Features
- · prepare alternative planning concepts
- · summarize key planning features in concept plans
- Summary and Next Meeting Agenda
The CAC and community members worked as members of three planning teams to establish planning principles based on Meeting #1 opportunities, challenges, and objectives. They answered the following questions:
List three ways:
- · multi-use trails can be used to make the plan better.
- · open space can make the plan better.
- · school sites and community facilities can make the plan better.
- · to design roads that will make the plan better.
- · to maintain the rural character of the Elverta area.
- · drainage should be incorporated into the plan to make it better.
Once you they completed listing your planning principles, they prepared a concept plan using a gaming kit of land uses. The teams then summarized the top two features of your plan in terms of:
- Land Use Pattern Features
- Open Space Features
- Auto and Transit Circulation Features
- Multi-use Trail Features
